Saturday Corbett Sports WPL Results

The New Saints 4 Bangor City 1

Confidence from an early goal and a home ground secured the three points for The New Saints who have now won 9 consecutive games against Bangor in the Welsh Premier League. It was only a matter of seconds before Michael Wilde opened the scoring but it was 1-1 within ten minutes when Jamie Petrie scored his 7th goal of the season to equalize. The New Saints continued their impressive home run with goals from Alex Darlington (47) Mike Wilde (59) Sam Finely (76) in the second half to see them keep their place at the top of the Corbett Sports table.

Roedd yna gyffro o’r funud cyntaf ar Neuadd y Parc wrth i Michael Wilde sgorio o fewn eiliadau. Ond roedd hi’n un yr un o fewn deg munud pan tarodd Jamie Petrie un yn ôl gyda 7fed gôl ei dymor. Ond parhaodd rhediad cyson y tîm cartref gyda goliau di-ri yn yr ail hanner gan Alex Darlington (47) Mike Wilde (59) a Sam Finely (76). Dyma 20fed buddugoliaeth Y Seintiau Newydd ac ei nawfed yn olynnol yn erbyn Bangor.


Carmarthen 1 Airbus UK 2

Carmarthen may have returned to Richmond Park but they did not seem to benefit from a home advantage against Andy Preece's men. Andy Jones put the visitors in front after 25 minutes. Liam McCreesh did find the back of the net for Carmarthen at the stroke of half time to make it 1-1. But Airbus went back in front with a goal from Ian Kearney after 78 minutes. McCreesh received a red card just before the final whistle for verbally abusing an assistant referee.

Caerfyrddin 1 Airbus UK 2

Dychwelodd Caerfyrddin i’r Waun Dew ar ôl cyfnod o 3 mis. Andy Jones agorodd y sgorio wedi 25 munud ond daeth Liam Mcreesh a’r sgôr yn gyfartal wrth i’r cloc daro hanner amser. Ian Kearney rwydodd yr ail i Airbus wedi 78 munud i gipio’r triphwynt.

Two goals in ten minutes brought the game to life after a disappointing first half. Craig Jones’ (48) goal was swiftly followed with another from Luke Holden who scored his first goal for the home side after 59 minutes. Gary O’Toole added another after 86 minutes to make it a comfortable 3 point win for the home side.

Roedd dwy gôl o fewn deng munud yn ddigon i gyffroi’r dorf wedi hanner cyntaf siomedig. Cafodd gôl Craig Jones (48) ei dilyn gan gôl Luke Holden (59) – ei gyntaf yn y cynghrair. Ymestynnodd Gary O’Toole y fantais wedi 86 munud i selio’r 3 phwynt.

Newtown won their first game of the year at home to Rhyl. Early pressure from the home team finally paid off with a goal from Neil Mitchell (11) on his second home appearance. It wasn’t long before Mark Cadwallader brought the score level after 24 minutes. But Matt Cook (72) found the bottom corner from just outside the box to secure the 3 points.

Sgoriodd Neil Mitchell ar ei ail ymddangosiad wedi 11 munud i gyfrannu at fuddugoliaeth gyntaf y flwyddyn i’r Drenewydd. Roedd Mark Cadwallader yn gyflym i ddod â’r sgôr yn gyfartal ar ôl 24 munud. Ond gôl o droed chwith Matt Cook a seliodd y triphwynt cyn y chwiban olaf (78).

Prestatyn Town 1 Bala Town 2

Ryan Valentine (15) opened the scoring at Bastion Gardens to put the visitors in the lead. After 29 minutes a cross by Chris Davies found Gareth Wilson who curled it in to make it 1-1 at half time. Ian Sheridan was awarded a penalty and secured the winning goal which will see them climb their way up the bottom of the table.
