Afan Lido (Lido Afan ) 0 Aberystwyth 6

Aberystwyth laid down the gauntlet to the other teams in the bottom 6 with an emphatic victory at the Marston’s Stadium on Tuesday night.
The home side started brightly and it was only a last ditch Siôn James tackle which denied the Lido from opening the scoring after 10 minutes of play.
The first goal of the evening came after 25 minutes when former Lido captain Mark Jones put Aber ahead. Chris Venables scored the first of his goals during first half injury time to double the visitors’ lead.
An impressive Stuart Jones shot made it 3-0 after 56 minutes before Venables’s second of the evening courtesy of his powerful forehead made it four. This was Venables’s 14th League goal of the current campaign. Not to be outdone by his colleague - Stuart Jones headed Aber’s 5th in the 73rd minute.
Mark Jones became the third Aber player to secure his brace in the closing minutes to compound Lido’s misery.
This victory gives Ian Hughes’s men a 5 point cushion between themselves and Port Talbot who currently occupy 8th position in the Corbett Sports WPL.
One interesting footnote to this match was Kaloyan Ivanov’s introduction in the 72nd minute – the first ever Bulgarian to take part in the WPL.

Wedi’r siom gael eu hunain yn y 6 isaf – dechreuodd Aber eu hymgyrch yn ail ran y tymor yn y modd gorau posib nos Fawrth wrth ennill yn gyfforddus yn Stadiwm Marston’s.
Dechreuodd Lido Afan ar garlam a dim ond tacl wych Siôn James wedi 10 munud rwystrodd y clwb cartref rhag mynd ar y blaen.
Wedi’r cyfle cynnar hwnnw – rheolodd yr ymwelwyr y gêm – yn enwedig felly wedi i Mark Jones agor y sgorio yn erbyn ei gyn-glwb wedi 25 munud. Dyblwyd y fantais ar ddiwedd yr hanner cyntaf pan rwydodd Chris Venables ei gyntaf o’r noson.
Hawliodd Stuart Jones y gyntaf o’i ddwy ef wedi 56 munud – ac yna 2 funud wedi hynny peniodd Venables 4edd yr ymwelwyr – a’i 14eg o’r tymor yn y Cynghrair. Dangosodd Stuart Jones ei allu penio yntau wed 73 munud gan gwblhau’r sgorio a’r fuddugoliaeth.
Gydag ychydig funudau’n weddill hawliodd Mark Jones ei ail ef o’r noson – y trydydd chwaraewr o Aber i wneud hynny ar y noson.
Mae’r llwyddiant hwn wedi gosod 5 pwynt o fwlch rhwng bechgyn Ian Hughes sy’n 7fed a Phort Talbot sy’n yr 8fed safle ar hyn o bryd.
Un pwynt arall o ddiddordeb o’r gêm hon oedd cyflwyniad Kaloyan Ivanov iddi wedi 72 o funudau – y gr cyntaf o Fwlgaria i chwarae yn ein Huwch Gynghrair.

<2r>Gap Connah’s Quay (Gap Cei Connah) 1 Prestatyn 1
This was a game which was targeted as a victory for both teams for different reasons. Gap needed the 3 points to close the gap between themselves and Prestatyn who occupied 10th position while the Seasiders needed the victory to mount their challenge for the all-important 7th position.
Chris Hartland opened the scoring after only 5 minutes – his first ever goal Prestatyn – but Mike Hayes’s late first half effort secured a point for the home side.
There were another two talking points from this match – Andy Parkinson was stretchered off for Prestatyn during the opening period – and the fact that the Deeside Stadium’s floodlights failed for short periods on two occasions during the evening.

‘Roedd hon yn gêm yr oedd y ddau reolwr wedi gobeithio sicrhau buddugoliaeth ynddi am wahanol resymau.
‘Roedd angen triphwynt ar Gei Connah er mwyn agosau at ddiogelwch tra bod Prestatyn yn ceisio cryfhau eu gobeithion o orffen yn y seithfed safle hollbwysig.
Sgoriodd Chris Hartland ei gôl gyntaf erioed dros Brestatyn wedi 5 munud cyn i Mike Hayes hawlio pwynt i’r Nomadiad ar ddiwedd y cyfnod cyntaf.
Anafwyd Andy Parkinson yn yr hanner cyntaf hefyd – ac fe gaiff yr ornest ei chofio hefyd am y ffaith i’r llifoleuadau ddiffodd am gyfnodau byr ar ddau achlysur yn ystod y gêm.
