S4C has chosen to broadcast two live FAW Welsh Cup Round 4 matches over successive weekends in the New Year.
A week before the conference date for the round, on Saturday 25th January 2014, Sgorio will show the clash between two North East Wales FA clubs; Bala Town v Cefn Druids at Maes Tegid.
Until recent weeks, the Lakesiders have struggled for consistency and form this season and have only recently climbed out of the bottom two of the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League. It's a different story for the Druids though who have topped the Huws Gray Alliance for almost the entire season. Huw Griffiths' side, who reached the Final two season's ago, have won 14 of their 17 league games, they remain unbeaten and have scored 54 goals, conceeding just 7.
The following week, the live S4C Cameras will be at Richmond Park, Carmarthen to show a clash between two former Champions. The 2006/07 winners Carmarthen Town host the 2011/12 Champions, The New Saints, with a 17:15 kick off.
The match is a repeat of the 2004/05 final, when TNS defeated the Old Gold at Stebonheath Park, courtesy of a solitary John Lawless goal.
The only player from the Town team that day to still be involved at the club is Neil Smothers, who is the assistant manager. Whilst in the Saints team that day, Mike Wilde, who is the Welsh Premier's joint-top scorer this season started the match, as did Steve Evans and Scott Ruscoe who are both still on the Saints books, but currently on the long-term injured list.
The winners will book a spot in the last eight and a result is guaranteed on the day, with the possibility of extra-time and penalties.
