Airbus Reclaim Top Spot

A 74th minute goal took from Ryan Wade took Airbus back to the top of the Corbett Sports WPL in a windswept encounter at the Holllingsworth Group Stadium on Friday night.

In very blustery conditions Steve Abbott put the home side ahead in the final minute of the opening period – but a 35 yard thunderbolt from Mark Connolly 7 minutes after the break levelled things up.

It was ultimately Wade‘s intervention with 16 minutes remaining which claimed the victory for the Wingmakers and although Bala did hit the woodwork on more than one occasion – the home side held on for the 3 points which places them a point ahead of TNS but having played 2 more games than their rivals.

Bala remain only 3 points above both Port Talbot based sides at the bottom of the table – but the Lakesiders have now played 1 game more than Afan Lido and the Steelmen.

Sicrhaodd ergyd Ryan Wade wedi 74 munud y fuddugoliaeth i Airbus a gymrodd fechgyn Andy Preece yn ôl i frig UGC-Corbett Sports nos Wener.

Yng nghanol gwynt ac oerfel oedd yn gafael go iawn - y clwb cartref aeth ar y blaen ym munud ola’r cyfnod cyntaf pan rwydodd Steve Abbott - ond 7 munud wedi’r baned hanner amser ergydiodd Mark Connolly’n gampus o 35 llath i wneud pethau’n gyfartal.

Er i’r ymwelwyr daro’r postyn a’r trawst - gôl Wade gyda chwta chwarter awr ar ôl sicrhaodd y fuddugoliaeth i fechgyn Brychdyn. Maent bellach bwynt ar y blaen i’r Seintiau ar y brig er eu bod wedi chwarae dwy gêm yn fwy na’r Pencampwyr.

Mae’r golled hon yn gweld Y Bala’n parhau driphwynt yn unig uwchben safleoedd y gwymp – ond mae Port Talbot a Lido Afan wedi chwarae un gêm yn llai na bechgyn Maes Tegid.
