Carmarthen Town manager Mark Aizlewood took full responsibility after Carmarthen Town were thrashed 6-0 at Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints, writes the South Wales Evening Post.
Town went into the game in good form and with high hopes of maintaining a fine run which had seem them climb into the upper reaches of the table.
But in the end they were totally outplayed by the hosts.
"It's all my fault," admitted Town manager Aizlewood.
"I got the tactics completely wrong and I must hold my hand up to take the blame.
"We should have had a penalty after just four minutes when Liam Thomas was brought down in the area, but that would have changed nothing about what happened afterwards."
Sam Finley scored a four-minute hat-trick which equalled the Welsh Premier League record. Chris Jones, Matty Williams and Greg Draper also scored for the Saints.
Aizlewood added: "At half-time I told the players I had got it wrong and we changed our formation.
"The last 45 minutes were far, far better than the first half and I now have to regroup the players for Saturday's clash against Connah's Quay."
