Prestatyn Town's heroic European adventure is over after the Seasiders lost 3-0 to full-time Croatian outfit, Rijeka.
Trailing 5-0 after the 1st leg, the Seasiders were playing for more pride in front of their loyal fans at Rhyl's Belle Vue stadium against their visitors who boast a €5.5m budget.
Hometown hero Jon Hill-Dunt was recalled in the Town goal for the tie with Dave Roberts on the bench, but the stopper was unable to deny
20 year old midfielder Ivan Moini in the 37th minute. The impressive Croatian U21 International latched on a loose ball and scored with a curler which gave Hill-Dunt no hope.
And another error at the back cost the Welsh Premier side dear just three minutes later with Ivan Boras netting. A wayward touch by Ross Stephens fell to Boras, who finished nonchalantly with the outside of his right boot.
The final goal of the evening came from midfielder Goran Mujanovi 20 minutes into the second half.
The defeat means that Welsh involvement in Europe is over for another season, but there are many positives to be had from all four clubs.
