The Football Association of Wales will run their next UEFA Pro Licence starting in season 2013/14.
The Pro Licence is the highest available coaching qualification in Europe and it is a pre-requisite for the first team manager / head coach for the UEFA club licence. Airbus UK Broughton manager Andy Preece who guided the Wingmakers to highest-ever second place finish last season and European football for the first time is amongst the candidates on the current course.
The FAW coach education programme was recently praised in the National media by Everton FC manager Roberto Martinez, who took his coaching badges in Wales. Other high profile candidates in recent years have included Marcel Dessaily, Jens Lehmann and Didi Hammann, the latter developing a friendship with Bala Town Director of Football Colin Caton on their course, and Hammann was supporting the Lakesiders last week in their Europa League match at Rhyl.
Closing date for all applications is strictly 11 October 2013.
