Llanelli AFC were unsuccessful in their appeal to the Club Licensing Appeals Body, which sat in Cardiff today (Tuesday)...
Llanelli AFC were refused the domestic and UEFA licence at the Club Licensing First Instance Body meeting held on April 2nd 2013. The club appealed against that decision and had until Tuesday 23rd April to submit further evidence in support of their appeal. The Appeals Body reaffirmed the decision of the First Instance Body and the club will not be licensed for the 2013/14 season.
This means that they will be relegated from the Welsh Premier League and are unable to compete in UEFA Club competition in 2013/14.
The FAW were notified unofficially on Monday that the club, Llanelli AFC Limited, would face compulsory liquidation following a Court hearing in London over an unpaid tax bill to HMRC.
Llanelli were the Welsh Premier League Champions in 2007/08 and won the Welsh Cup just two seasons ago.
