Afan Lido have announced the return of Paul Reid as first team manager at the League's bottom club. A club statement released on Tuesday evening said;
"Afan Lido FC are delighted to announce the return of Paul Reid as first team manager.
"Reid departed the Welsh Premier League club for personal reasons in January this year, but has remained in close contact with the club, acting in an advisory capacity whilst working with the youth academy and providing support to interim first-team coaches Paul Evans and Gareth Phillips.
"The personal reasons that contributed to Reid’s departure have now eased, allowing the former Huddersfield Town and Leicester City midfielder to resume managerial duties with the Seasiders.
Paul Reid commented: “I am delighted to be able to commit once again to first-team duties, and look forward to working with the club in our bid to survive relegation from the Welsh Premier League.”
General Manager of Afan Lido FC, Mark Robinson, added: “The club has always had a great deal of respect for Paul, so it is with pleasure that we welcome him back into the fold, and look forward to working with him as we attempt to revive our fortunes on the field.”
The 45-year-old made more than 550 league appearances, scoring more than 50 goals, in a professional career spanning 20 years. Reid also made 20 appearances as a player for Afan Lido in the Welsh Premier in 2004, before returning to the club at the start of this season in his role as manager.
