Lee Surman returns to Port Talbot
Port Talbot Town have completed a busy weekend of transfer activity by securing the arrival of former defender Lee Surman from Llanelli, writes club Press Officer, Matthew Burgess.
Surman becomes the third player to arrive from Stebonheath in the space of twenty-four hours, after the club announced the signings of Martin Rose and Ashley Evans yesterday.
The twenty-six year-old will now resume his Port Talbot Town career, having spent seven successful seasons at the club prior to moving to Llanelli for the 2011/12 season.
In his previous spell at the GenQuip stadium, Surman became a leading figure in helping the club achieve European qualification and a finish runner-up in the Welsh Cup and widely regarded as one of the league’s finest defenders, brings with him a wealth of experience
Surman becomes the fourth addition to the squad of the transfer window, joining Chad Bond, Martin Rose and Ashley Evans at the club, leaving Young happy with the club’s transfer activity during the January window.
“This is us done now in this transfer window, we’ve wanted to create competition for places throughout the side and I’m delighted to have been able to bring the three players in.”
Surman will wear the number five shirt.
