Ken McKenna and Lee Trundle - two of the biggest characters to grace the Welsh Premier League have entered the WPL Hall of Fame.
Trundle joined Rhyl in 2000 and scored 15 goals in only 18 appearances before Brian Flynn snapped him up for Wrexham. After two successful seasons at the Racecourse he followed Flynn to Swansea where he netted 78 times in 146 games. This lead to a £1 million transfer to Bristol City in 2007. Following stints wth Leeds and back at Swansea - Trundle played for Neath FC for two seasons - reminding WPL fans of his skills and popularity.
Following Neath's demise in 2012 he returned to the Football League when he joined Preston North End.
Trundle's two memorable periods in the WPL and the positive perception he portrayed of the standard of the League certainly merit his inclusion in the Hall of Fame.
Ken McKenna's first taste of the WPL came with Conwy Utd in 1994. The following season he became the League's top scorer when he scored 38 goals in 35 appearances.
He moved on to Bangor City and scored a goal in their Welsh Cup Final success in 2005 before moving to TNS as a player and ultimately as manager. While at the helm-TNS finished as runners up for three seasons on the trot before three successive titles followed in 2005,2006 and 2007. The FAW's Premier Cup (2007) and the League Cup (2006) were also won with McKenna as manager.
Ken McKenna is now assistant manager with Morecambe in League 2.
