Bob Jeffrey will face TNS in his first match as Manager
New Llanelli boss Bob Jeffrey is relishing the prospect of steering the Stebonheath ship in the coming months.
The Glaswegian, who has been involved as a player and an academy coach at the club for a total of twelve years, told the Corbett Sports WPL Website that he’s “overjoyed” at being given the opportunity to manage a club so close to his heart.
Jeffrey also added:
“Jobs usually become vacant in difficult situations and there’s no doubt that we’ve encountered some financial frustrations in the past few months. However Llanelli AFC is a great football club and we have a great bunch of boys here who have shown their true commitment to the cause during trying times.
Having Gary Lloyd as my assistant is a huge asset – everyone knows that he’s a Llanelli man through and through who will do his utmost to help the club. If we all pull together – we’re bound to pull through and I’m hoping that we can see a few smiles around Stebonheath once again”.
Llanelli and Jeffrey face a difficult task on Saturday as they host Champions The New Saints:
“It’s not the easiest of matches in my first game in charge – but hopefully by the weekend we will have put a few financial issues to bed and we can start concentrating on getting Llanelli back into the top six again.”
