Cardiff Met University signed Dylan Rees from Aberystwyth Town in July 2017, following the full-back's admittance into the University on a Sports degree.

Aberystwyth had announced the signing of right back Dylan Rees from Cardiff City on deadline day, 31st January 2017 and he played 6 (+1) times for the Seasiders in the WPL in the 2016/17 campaign, as Aber narrowly avoided relegation.

Pembrokeshire-based Rees is an energetic right-sided defender who spent a decade with the Cardiff Bluebirds. He signed a first year scholarship deal with City four years ago, before he earned a professional contract in May 2015, going on to score the winner for Cardiff in a pre-season friendly at Carmarthen that summer. Dylan had spent eight years making progress through the Cardiff City Academy, while he completed Btec qualifications equating to two A' Levels plus his level two coaching badge. Dylan played regular under-21 team football until his release from Cardiff last year. A former Ysgol Greenhill School pupil, Dylan started playing for Tenby AFC before joining City. He traveled regularly from West Wales to Cardiff for a number of seasons before taking up a Bluebirds' football scholarship and moving to be closer to the club.
