Come From Behind Bala on brink of Europe

Bala Town came from behind to stand on the brink of a second ever European campaign in front of almost 700 fans at Park Avenue.

The Seasiders took the lead in the only game of the night, as the league's leading scorer Chris Venables opened the scoring in the 34th minute.

The Lakesiders restored parity in the 73rd minute as the prolific Lee Hunt struck.

With the match heading for a draw, Ian Sheridan beat would-be Aber defenders to score the winning goal and give Huw Griffiths' side a foot in the European door.

There was more late drama though as Venables broke through only to be denied by an outstanding save from the excellent Ashley Morris in the Bala goal.

Third placed Airbus now need to beat TNS tomorrow to keep their runners up hopes alive, however not even a draw against the unbeaten Champions will be enough.
