The Robins made a great start at the Rock as Matthew Hearsey scored with just nine minutes on the clock. The advantage was doubled seven minutes before the interval when leading scorer Jason Oswell netted.

Things got worse for the Druids after half-time as veteran defender Peter Hoy was sent off on 54 minutes.

Newtown now have 25 points in fifth place, whilst Druids remain on 21 points in eighth and with a difficult Christmas period approaching, their hopes for a Top Six place in their first season back in the top flight, have been a dealt a blow this evening.
