Prestatyn were left frustrated after having to settle for a 1-1 draw with a physical Carmarthen outfit at Bastion Gardens.

It looked like the Seasiders might have secured the three points when Lee Hunt`s fine finish gave them an 82nd minute lead. But two minutes later a Kyle Bassett free kick took a slight deflection off Prestatyn midfielder Gareth Wilson and brought Carmarthen the equaliser.

The home sides cause was not helped by the inconsistant decision making of the match officials, with Prestatyn more often than not getting the rough end of the wedge.

Carmarthen had the better of the first half chances. Dave Roberts produced an heroic close range stop from Craig Hanford before blocking bravely at the feet of Christian Doidge.

At the other end, Steve Cann made saves from an Andy Parkinson free kick and Michael Parker`s close range effort.

The visitors had two good chances early in the second half from corners, but Liam Thomas blasted over and Doidge bundled the ball wide.

Prestatyn should have had a penalty when Hunt was felled by Kris Thomas, but nothing was given. Substitute Ross Stephens` low shot was then grasped by Cann as the home side cranked up the pressure.

Bassett`s corner clipped the near post, but the deadlock was finally broken eight minutes from time when Hunt latched on to Chris Davies` ball over the defence and finished clinically for 1-0.

Bassett`s free kick, which deflected off Gareth Wilson's head levelled it, but Prestatyn went closest to winning it when Parkinson`s free kick was deflected goalwards, but Cann held on.
