Duckett gets Bala off to flier in Porthmadog Triumph

After the recent enforced weather break Bala Town were eager to pick up where they had left off after their win at Connah's Quay on Boxing Day.

With Danny Williams and Mike Thompson making their debuts Bala started the match brightly and immediately caused choas in the Porthmadog defence and it was no surprise when they took the lead when a crisp halfvolley from Warren Duckett saw the Lakesiders take the lead after only two minutes.

The visitors were playing very well and bossed virtually the whole of the opening half an hour, but a second goal didn't materialise and Port ended the half in the ascendancy.

However Bala came out in determined mood for the second half and were awarded a free kick outside the box after 57 minutes which was duly dispatched into the top corner by Ricky Evans. As the mist descended Bala saw out the rest of the half comfortably and went home with a welcome three points after an excellent all round team performance.
