Bizarre Allen Goal Sinks Porthmadog

A bizarre goal by Mark Allen from a corner, with a couple of home players providing deflections, separated Airbus from Porthmadog at The Traeth.

But the Wingmakers, who included three former Porthmadog regulars - Marc Lloyd Williams, Carl Owen and Rhys Roberts - fully deserved the points and might well have made it by a bigger tally.

Tomi Morgan's men, who had been targeting a third straight win, after home and away triumphs, never really got going. Aden Shannon did test Airbus 'keeper Kristian Rogers with a strong free-kick midway through the first half and a snap effort close to the break. But Airbus made most of the running and there were worthy threats by Lloyd Williams and Ashley Williams, who forced Richard Morgan into a brilliant double save.

The game's decisive moment on 67 minutes arose from a corner on the right and, while defender Allen applied a firm header, the ball struck Ryan Davies and Gareth Parry en route to the net.
