Druids winger Kevin Holsgrove scored the only goal of the game as NEWI Cefn Druids took another giant stride towards safety by beating Bangor City at Plaskynaston.
The victory means that the Ancients have picked up back-to back home wins and clean sheets over the last four days, which takes them to 31 points and seven above Caersws who lie in seventeenth.
Bangor were without strikers Les Davies and Chris Sharp, as well as instrumental midfielder and captain Marc Limbert, but were able to recall the previously suspended Jamie Brewerton and Sion Edwards who has overcome a hamstring strain. Nev Powell's side still looked strong on paper, but with their Loosemores Cup Final to look forward against TNS on Sunday, the fixture came at a good time for the Ancients.
After a goalless first half, the deadlock was broken by Holsgrove, the former Everton trainee, on 47 minutes and it proved to be the winner. It was the third goal in two games for the talented youngster and what will delight his Manager Lee Jones just as much, was that 'keeper Ged McGuigan kept another clean sheet, as the hosts held on to claim all three points.
