THIS was a crucial win for Prestatyn as they continue to cling on to their Welsh Premier status.
Coming hard on the heels of a priceless three points over relegation rivals Caersws, once again the hero of the hour was striker Ian Griffiths, who fired the winner. But it was a close call after Aber could have had things sewn up by half-time.
Ross Stephens hit the bar from a free-kick, Graham Evans had a shot cleared off the line and Glyndwr Hughes had a goal disallowed for offside. Even the vital goal came after Aber had missed a penalty, awarded after Tom Bradshaw had been fouled by David Hayes. Evans saw his spot-kick saved by Jon Dunt and the ball cleared upfield.
It fell to Griffiths, who went on a strong run before hitting a low drive under the body of visitors keeper Dave Roberts.
