Porthmadog gained a vital three points in their Battle against relegation with an excellent 4-2 victory at Newi Cefn Druids. The win marked Tomi Morgan's first win as Porth Boss and the signs are that his side have already turned a corner under his experienced guidance.
Goals from John Rowley (two), Mike Foster and Marcus Orlik earned the victory at Porthmadog with Kevin Holsgrove and John Rush replying for the Druids.
It was the Druids who actually took the lead as early as the fourth minute through winger Holsgrove, but the visitors were on level terms on the half-hour when Rowley scored passed ex-Porth keeper Ged McGuigan. Porth then took the lead when Chris Powell fouled Chris Jones and Andy Harms gave the visitors a penalty, which Mike Foster converted for the second time in as many games.
Just before the break, Rowley bagged his second of the night which gave his side a real lift going into the interval. Marcus Orlik then extended the lead further with a goal fourteen minutes from time, whilst teenage sub John Rush scored a late consolation for the Ancients with five minutes left on the clock.
