NOMADS fell to their fourth straight league defeat as classy Carmarthen withstood a powerful second half recovery to deny the battling Deesiders. Carmarthen were two up inside the first 17 minutes.
Nicky Palmer latched on to a Stuart Roberts through ball on eight minutes and it was no surprise when Carmarthen added a second, Craig Hughes hammering home a rebound from a Tim Hicks effort beyond keeper Craig Vernon.
Outplayed Nomads could have no complaints at trailing to a far superior outfit but to their credit came out a transformed side to completely reverse the first-half roles throughout the second period.
In a wave of attacks free-flowing Nomads pinned Carmarthen back and deservedly reduced the gap on 65 minutes when skipper Liam Loughlin blasted the ball into the roof of the net from 10 yards.
Danny Forde, Craig Jones and livewire Loughlin all went close with fine efforts well saved by Neil Thomas. But in a cruel twist on 82 minutes, Carmarthen broke upfield after repelling a Nomads corner for Hicks to seal the verdict.
