The threat of relegation still lingers over Porthmadog after Connah's Quay secured an emphatic victory at the Deeside Stadium.
The hosts' hero was Michael Cronshaw who set up the opening goal for Danny Forde before netting twice himself. Cronshaw provided the right wing cross that led to Forde heading past Richard Harvey for the 11th minute opener.
Five minutes into the second half, Cronshaw linked with Liam Loughlin before cutting inside to score his second midway through the half, but Marc Lloyd Williams rifled in a rocket of a shot from 25 yards to give the visitors some small consolation following Steve Kehoe dismissal for violent conduct, following a rash challenge.
