Carmarthen boss Deryn Brace full of praise for hitman Danny Thomas

Carmarthen Town player-manager Deryn Brace praised the professionalism of former Cardiff City striker Danny Thomas, who came off the bench to clinch a 70th-minute winner.

"Danny is one of the most reliable strikers in the league, but it has been a frustrating time for him lately having to put up with a waiting game," Brace said.

"He has put his hands up today for a place in next week's starting line-up and I'm delighted for him."

Thomas added his weight to the Old Gold's cause when he replaced Tim Hicks 11 minutes into the second half. And he made an instant impact. Stuart Roberts robbed Prestatyn's Jack Lewis and his cross from the byline was superbly converted by the home striker.

Earlier, visitors' keeper Jon Hill-Dunt had denied Neil Smothers with a superb acrobatic tip over the bar and Jamal Easter should have done better from close range. Prestatyn's cause was not helped by the needless 65th-minute dismissal of David Hayes for foul and abusive language and his punishment was aggravated five minutes later by Thomas' strike.
