<1r>Rhyl's deadly striking duo Jamie Reed and Neil Roberts both scored First-Half goals to send unbeaten Rhyl to the Top of the Principality Welsh Premier League this evening.
In an attacking line-up which also featured Matthew Williams and Craig Jones, Rhyl boss Alun Bickerstaff signalled his intentions from the moment he handed in his Team-Sheet and it was evident that he wanted to leapfrog Llanelli at Farrar Road.
Bangor have become quite a force at their old Stadium, but they were left shell-shocked by the R&R striking duo, who scored a goal apiece in the space of four minutes, which proved to be the only goals of the evening.
Firstly, Jamie Reed opened the scoring for the Lilywhites on 24 minutes after a clever quick free-kick, before former Wales striker Neil Roberts, who once had a loan spell at Farrar Road from Wrexham, returned to haunt the Citizens by doubling the advantage. He scored another outstanding goal with a great turn and top class finish, which showed the almost 800-crowd exactly how good he is.
Bickerstaff's side are now one point ahead of the current Champions Llanelli with 29 points, having also played eleven games. Crucially, it was another clean sheet for Lee Kendall and his back-four, and they have conceded just four goals in the League this campaign - Fourteen less than the Reds.
The win avenges the visitors Loosemores Cup elimination at the hands of their rivals last month, as the Citizens progressed to the Semi-Final with a 3-1 Extra Time win at Farrar Road.
