Saints go marching to the top

The goals flowed in the Park Hall sunshine as the Saints moved to the top of the table on goal difference after hitting their visitors for six.

Despite holding the upper hand the hosts led by just one goal at the break, that coming when Alfie Carter seized on a mistake from Marc Lloyd-Williams to run clear and fire past 'keeper Richard Harvey. The experienced Lloyd-Williams sent an awful back-pass towards his 'keeper, but Carter intercepted with ease before rounding Harvey.

After the break it was all TNS, with sub Craig Williams, a new signing from Llanelli, adding a second on 48 minutes before Jamie Wood and Alex Darlington put the hosts out of sight at 4-0.

Michael Wilde then got his name on the scoresheet by netting a tap-in from Wood's pass and John Toner completed the rout in the dying seconds.
