Porth desperatley denied win by Cross Bar

Porth took the lead in the 4th minute when a long ball from the back found Carl Owen who raced clear and he tapped it around the rushing keeper, Paul Pritchard who was in no-man's land and Owen had the easiest chance to put the ball into an empty net. Nomads responded when Sam McNutt scored an outstanding 30 metre left-footed free kick into the top right hand corner.

The same man made it 2-1 just two minutes later when McNutt headed home from a Mark Cadwallader cross. But, Porth then levelled when Rhys Roberts saw his header blocked, but his second attemot end up in the back of the net in a crowded area. Porth were back in front when Owen headed into Paul Roberts' path and the striker cleverly lobbed Pritchard to make it 3-2 in a hugely exciting first period.

However, there was a sixth goal to enjoy for the neutral when the Nomads attacked down the right and Stewart White pulled the ball back to Craig Jones, whose speculative chip into the box looped over Richard Harvey and ended up in the far corner off the post.

Porth had a chance to win it when Pritchard again raced out of his area but was beaten by Owen who flicked the ball to Roberts, but the striker's header was cleared off the line by Chris Williams. The follow up from Gareth Parry was then rifled against the bar and Porth's luck appeared to have run out.
