Lilywhites back to Winning Ways over Canaries

Rhyl closed the gap on the leaders with a 3-1 win over Caernarfon Town at Belle Vue after the Canaries started the game with just ten men. Some of the Caernarfon players were delayed on their way to the ground when their car broke down on the A55, which was the worst possible preparation for Steve O'Shaughnessy's side.

The home side took advantage of the numerical advantage as Craig Jones scored the first goal of the afternoon after four minutes, to give the Lilywhites an early lead. The hosts held on to that advantage until the 53rd minute, when Canaries' striker John Rowley equalised. The scores were only even for seven minutes though, as Lee Hunt restored the home side's lead on the hour, grabbing his fifteenth goal of the season and the game was made safe with three minutes remaining, when Marc Connolly scored a stunning free-kick for John Hulse's side.
