PORTHMADOG are wondering when they will win in front of their own fans, after their 13th frustration at The Traeth. But despite looking grim-faced two goals down into its closing quarter-of-an-hour, in a storming revival they proved they possess fighting qualities.
Reply goals were grabbed by sub Mark Thomas and midfielder Gareth Parry five minutes apart. Both were creations of former Airbus regular Dave Hughes who had been summoned off the bench and offered a corner and a cross that were converted in style.
The Wingmakers, who had not won on three visits to the ground, fancied their prospects from the 11th minute, when Gareth Sudlow bundled the ball into the net, after the home defence had failed to clear a corner. The prospects of an away win became even more likely on 70 minutes, when Danny Desormeaux netted the second goal, clipping the ball past Richard Harvey from 18 yards.
A third Airbus goal almost followed soon after, when Phil Molyneux fluffed another chance and Porthmadog profited from that escape by taking charge at the other end, with replies on 75 and 80.
