Kick off:14:30 Saturday, 8 Dec 2007
Fixture Type: Welsh Premier League
Referee: Mark Petch
An opening six goal blitz finished this game as a competition after 24 minutes. Danny Thomas opened the account after five minutes before Tim Hicks struck a hat-trick in a five minute period plus another after Thomas had claimed his second killed off the visitors as Town set up a comprehensive win that sees them move into third place.
Hicks added a late goal to establish a new club record with his five goal tally and with Jamal Easter also on the score sheet it was a comprehensive win for the Richmond Park outfit.
But it was not all one-way traffic as the visitors enjoyed a couple of purple patches either side of the break. Neil Thomas tipped over Jon McAlisters header on the stroke of half time before saving twice with his feet to deny Melia just after the break and McAlister again at the death.
With Town re-establishing themselves soon after the break Easter was denied by the post twice with Thomas also hitting the upright from the penalty spot after Hicks had been brought down by the keeper in the box.
Having ensured that the game was playable despite the atrocious weather it was certainly Towns day as they equalled their own winning League margin with Hicks and Thomas achieving double figures and in the process condeming Nomads to their biggest League defeat.
