BOTTOM-OF-THE-TABLE Porthmadog followed up their sensational 2-1 win at leaders Llanelli with a repeat against a sliding Nomads side who haven't picked up a point for a month. The visitors had a great
chance to go in front when they were awarded a penalty for a handling offence on 34 minutes. But 'keeper Paul Pritchard saved Marcus Orlik's spot-kick to preserve a clean sheet at the end of a goalless first half.
Busy Nomads looked to be in the driving seat when they finally broke the deadlock on 49 minutes, Craig Jones feeding a great through-ball to Chris Melia, who drove into the bottom corner beyond keeper Richard Harvey. But resurgent Port refused to yield and were level when Gareth Parry was left unmarked to head home at the near post from Aled Rowland's cross on 57 minutes. Carl Owen was wide with only Pritchard to beat, but on 80 minutes match-winner Paul Roberts set off on a dazzling solo run, beating three defenders before hammering a priceless clincher low into the corner.
