<1r>The New Saints have risen to the Top of the Principality Building Society Welsh Premier League for the first time this season following a dazzling Second-Half display at Park Hall to sink Newtown by six goals to nil.
The Champions have now won their last eleven League games and have scored thirteen goals in their last two outings, which will be of major concern to their Title Rivals, Llanelli and Rhyl. The latest victory came about after it took the hosts seventy minutes to finally break down a gutsy Robins' side.
Ken McKenna's men took the lead as early as the eleventh minute when former Newtown player Scott Ruscoe scored against his former side. However, that was the only goal of the half and it wasn't until McKenna brought fit-again John Toner from the bench on the hour that TNS managed to sink their Mid Wales rivals.
Toner replaced Mike Wilde on 61 minutes and within eight minutes of coming on TNS had doubled their advantage when the unfortunate Hugh Clarke scored in his own net. Toner, the club's longest-serving player, then made the game safe less than a minute later when he fired past Dave Jones in the visitors goal for the home side's third.
There were three more goals for the home supporters to savor as Toner struck his second on 88 minutes, whilst the impressive left-winger Luke Holden grabbed a brace on 81 and 90 minutes to sandwich the Super-Sub's efforts.
