Edwards shines with Citizens Hat-Trick

<1r> Neville Powell's return to Nomads as Bangor City Manager provided the former long-serving Connah's Quay chief with the three points that he required, but even he would have been embarrassed that the match was so one-sided. The writing was on the wall as early as the sixth minute when Lee Webber headed past Paul Forrester for the opener from a Marc Limbert assist. The in-form Les Davies scored the second of the evening on 22 minutes, with a rare right-footed effort from thr burly front-man.

Davies' Wales Under 23 Semi Pro colleague, Sion Edwards (right) scored the third before the interval when he cooly guided the ball past Forrester in the Nomads' net. Edwards showed that he could be a real force in Italy this week, by bagging two more for his hat-trick in the Second Half. Just seven minutes after the re-start, he struck a sweet shot that bulged the back of the net. It was then ex-Nomad midfielder Christian Seargeant's turn to get in on the act, by striking a wonderful free-kick from 22 metres after he was fouled by the home defence. Three minutes later, striker Ashley Stott scored the sixth and on 75 minutes, the left-winger Edwards completed his hatrick with a coolly taken penalty after defender Chris Williams, who was playing in a protective mask, fouled Stott.
