An early Gareth Hughes strike was enough to give the Seasiders the points at a sun drenched Park Avenue. The hosts were good value for the win after dominating throughout, but failed to add to their account after Hughes had found the net in the 10th minute with a diving header.
Aber should have been further ahead at the break, but a combination of wayward finishing and some stout Druids defence kept them at bay.
The visitors instead relied on the strike force of Mike Heverin and Lee Jones to sniff out half chances while at the other end Aber's attack continued to misfire.
The win marked Aberystwyth boss Brian Coyne's achievement in chalking up a record 533rd game in charge, a new Welsh Premier milestone, as Druids slipped to a third consecutive league defeat.
