Rhyl overcome Druids to keep title Hunt alive

<2r>Strikers Andy Moran and Lee Hunt both got their names on the scoresheet as Rhyl kept up the chase on TNS as the Title race continues. Ryhl ran out 3-2 winners at Plaskynaston this evening, but had to endure some nervous moments before the final whsitle blew. The Lilywhites were fast out of the blocks and Andy Moran set them on their way on eleven minutes. A left wing cross found the impressive Marc Connolley and he headed to the unmarked Moran for the simplest of tap-ins.

The visitors then doubled their lead following a Chris Roberts free-kick into the dangerzone. After a short game of header-tennis the ball dropped down and Lee Hunt was the quickest to react and he fired home to double the advantage. The Druids got themselves back in it though as Osian Jones' freekick found its way to the Druids 'Captain for the Night', Timmy Edwards and the former Rhyl favourite, thoroughly enjoyed sneaking in at the far post to tap home with his right foot.

It was Chris Roberts, a former Druid, now playing in Rhyl colours who was next to strike after good build-up play by Connolley on the left and his cross found the full-back, who struck the ball home with his left foot into the corner, giving Carl Edwards no chance in the Druids' goal on 66 minutes. The home side fought back again though and after a Mike Heverin header, Steve Watkin flicked the ball over his head for Andrew Iniaberie to head home from six yards. Rhyl managed to hang on for the maximum points though, which leaves them three points behind the Saints at the top of the table.
