Smyth's late winner keeps Citizens climbing

<1>At Farrar Road, a strong crowd of 562 witnessed an 89th minute winner from the in-form Mark Smyth. who gained the Citizens maximum points and ensured that Clayton Blackmore's return to Farrar Road was a forgettable one. The home side took the lead through a Kieran Killackey effort with a quarter of an hour gone but the sides went in at half time on level pegging as Port's Carl Jones equalised a minute before the break.

Bangor then had the chance to go ahead again but Marc Lloyd Williams missed his spot-kick on the hour. Port then had defender Rhys Roberts sent off by Referee Maldwyn Williams and the Citizens made their numerical advantage count, as the former Liverpool youngster Smyth took his chance well a minute from time to give Steve Bleasdale's men the maximum points.

Bangor's win takes them up to sixth in the table, overaking Llanelli, but the Reds do have four games in hand.
