Leaders Saints held to Aber stalemate

TNS manager Ken McKenna admitted his side got no more and no less than they deserved from this tight contest at Park Avenue, Aberystwyth. "We did not play particularly well and I felt a draw was a fair result," he told the Western Mail. "Our passing was not as good as it has been recently and a point was all we deserved."

While Aberystwyth were solid, but rarely threatened, Greg Stones had an early chance for the league leaders, but glanced his header narrowly wide, while Spaniard Oscar Gonzales saw his well-struck shot safely gathered by home 'keeper Richard Morgan.

The best opportunity fell late on to the Saints' top scorer, John Toner, who fired meekly wide with the goal at his mercy. Aberystwyth are now unbeaten in four matches, and will look to build on this deserved point.
