There was a shock at Cae-y-castell as Airbus UK defeated Connah's Quay Nomads 2-1 to earn their second outstanding win in four days. The visitors flew into a 2-0 Half Time advantage against fifth place Connah's Quay Nomads to really dent their hosts European aspirations.
The visitors stunned the home side by taking a 33 minute lead through striker James McIntosh, who was well assisted by fellow striker Darren Williams. The latter chased a long ball and beat two defenders before laying off to his strike partner, who cooly found the back of the net. The team currently lying in penultimate position in the Principality Welsh Premier then doubled their advantage, when midfielder Dave Hughes struck an excellent half-volley from the edge of the box into the corner after a half-clearance with five minutes remaining in the Half.
Darren Williams was sent off with a quarter of an hour remaining for his second bookable offence, which gave Nomads hope, but their only strike came from the spot through skipper Marc Limbert, but it was too little, too late. Neville Powell had a full squad to choose from for the Nomads and selected new signing Chris Melia up front for a full debut, with Tommy Mutton dropping to the bench after an unusual baron spell, but this had little affect and he will be seriously disappointed that his side have been defeated twice on the bounce.
