Alfie scores twice, as Saints extend their lead at the Top

Principality Welsh Premier League Champions and leaders, The New Saints got back to winning ways as they overcame Aberystwyth Town at Treflan by a comfortable margin. The Saints had endured their first League defeat of the season last Sunday at Port Talbot, but have now extended their lead over the second-placed Steelmen to four points.

Former AFC Telford striker, Alfie Carter showed the kind of form that persuaded Ken McKenna to bring to the the Full-Timers last season, as he scored two of the home side's goals. He had a run of bad luck last year as he spent 5 months on the sidelines injured, but he now looks back to his best and his boss will be delighted to see him on the scoresheet.
