NOMADS new skipper Marc Limbert and prodigal son, Tommy Mutton both linked up to get the Deesiders' season off to a flying start at their new shared home at Cae-Y-Castell, Flint.
Mutton, who started last season as a Rhyl player, but returned to the Nomads later on in the season for his second spell, left the Deesiders in the summer to join Hednesford Town, but this fell through and Nomads Manager Nev Powell swooped to recapture the prolific marksman.
The Nomads had to come from behind after a disputed penalty in the 19th minute for a foul by debutant Tommy Harrison, formerly of Bangor, on Newtown's Darren Ryan. This enabled the Robins' striker Danny Barton to put Roger Preece's team ahead.
Nomads levelled three minutes before the break when a glorious cross from Anthony Warriner was powerfully headed home by former Rhyl ace Marc Limbert. The Nomads then upped the tempo and although Barton tested new keeper Nomads Demitri Brinias, a former Australian Under 17 International, it was the predator Mutton who fired the winning goal with just four minutes left on the clock.
